INSTALLATION:


What you need.

  • Sat Cruiser DSR-101 Receiver with remote control.
  • Audio cables:
    • RCA male to RCA male (receiver to balancing amplifier).
    • XLR to console interface (balancing amplifier to switcher/console input).
  • Unbalanced to Balanced audio converter.
  • In-line coaxial DC Block (if LNB DC power is provided by another receiver).
  • Television or monitor with video or RF (channel 3) input for receiver setup.
  • 3.1-3.8 meter (10-12 feet) Solid 2° compliant satellite dish.
  • Digital ready PLL LNB (<25°).
  • Receiver authorization codes.
    • Receiver will not decode USA Radio Network audio without proper authorization codes. These codes will be given only after confirmation of an executed affiliation agreement with the network.
  • Dish installation and alignment.
    • Dish must be installed and properly aligned with a digital spectrum analyzer before proceeding to hardware setup. Please refer to www.dvb-radio.net for detailed procedures.

Hardware Setup:

Connect Receiver as Shown in the Setup Diagram. Do not connect the coax from the LNB to the Digital input on the receiver yet (LNB coax will be connected after LNB power "on/off" is configured).

Installation Procedure:

Obtain receiver authorization codes by calling the USA Radio Network Affiliate Relations Department at 800-829-8111 ext. 1338.
Stations must have an executed contract with the USA Radio Network before authorization codes will be released.


Connect Equipment & Power-up:


Connect equipment as shown in Figure 1. DO NOT CONNECT THE COAX TO THE RECEIVER UNTIL LNB POWER HAS BEEN PROGRAMMED (see Configure LNB Power section below).
Turn the power on for the television and receiver. The MAIN MENU should appear on the television.


Helpful Basic Remote Control Hints:

  • The Text panels in the on-screen menus behave as "buttons" to be selected.
  • "CH UP/CH DN"-jump between selections in a menu.
  • "VOL LT/VOL RT"-jump between menus when more than one menu is visible or moves cursor left/right within a data field.
  • Use the "OK" button to select the choice.
  • Use "CLEAR" to erase the contents of a numeric field.
  • Use the "MENU" button to return to previous menus.


Configure LNB Power:


Select the Installation button in the Main Menu, then select the LNB Power button. If LNB Power is supplied from another receiver, set LNB Power to OFF. If LNB Power is to be supplied by the Sat Cruiser, set LNB Power to ON. Return to the Installation menu by pressing the Menu key.



Connect LNB Cable:


Connect LNB cable from dish to the Digital input on the rear of the receiver (figure 1).



Set TP (Transponder) Configuration:


Select the TP Configuration button from the Main Menu and press "OK".



Select Satellite Name:


Select the Satellite button of the TP Configuration menu and press "OK".
Choose the name of the satellite: AMC3_C and press "MENU" to return to the Installation Menu.



Verify/Set LNB Parameters:

AMC3_C or USER1 (GE-8)
LNB Type Standard
LO. Freq 05150

Select the LNB button of the TP for Satellite Configuration menu press "OK". This displays the current settings for the LNB.
Verify that the parameters are correct for the LNB used on the dish. The default parameters shown in figure 2 are typical for most C-Band LNB converters.
Make any changes as needed.
When the LNB parameters are correct, press the "MENU" button to return to the TP configuration Menu.



Add Transponder Parameters:


AMC3_C or USER1 for GE-8
Frequency 00000 (enter frequency provided by Network)
Polarization Auto
Symbol Rate 00000 (enter symbol rate provided by Network)
FTA only No
DISEqC 1.2  
Search Channels  
Network Search  
Add Channel Move cursor HERE and press "OK" button on remote to register settings above.

From the TP Configuration menu, press VOL RT to highlight the Add button.
Press "OK" to enter data for the transponder[s] for the satellite you selected earlier.
The transponder parameters entry table will be displayed (figure 3).
NOTE: When entering a 4-digit number in a 5-digit field you must precede the number with a leading "0".
Example: frequency is 4050 MHz. Enter "04050".
Fill in the Frequency with the carrier frequency and push CH DOWN to move to the Polarization field.
The ‘S’ signal indicator bar below the table should now be active.
Set Polarization to Auto and push CH DOWN to move to the Symbol Rate field.
Fill in the Symbol Rate and push CH UP to move to the FTA-Only field. The FTA-Only should be set to ‘No’.
Once all these setting are correct, from use the CH DOWN to move to the Add Channel field and PRESS "OK" 1 TIME ONLY!
Pressing the OK button in the ‘Add Channel’ data field displays the ‘Add Channel’ entry table. Individual channels for the satellite entered can now be programmed using the ‘Add Channel’ entry table displayed.

Each channel added to the transponder is given a name, an Audio PID number and a PCR PID number.
Using the remote, select the data field to the right of the channel name and press OK. A set of characters is displayed. Choose the characters for the name of the channel. For example, you might use US1 for USA channel 1, US2 for USA channel 2, US3 for USA channel 3, and US4 for USA channel 4.


Helpful hints for entering Channel Names:
  • Use the arrow keys on the remote to move to the letter to add.
  • Press OK to add the highlighted character to the name field.
  • INFO toggles the character set displayed between alphabetic and numeric character sets.
  • Press MENU when name entry is complete to return to the ‘Add Channel’ entry table. The Channel name is now displayed in the Table.

Leave the Video PID field Blank. Use CH DOWN to move to the Audio PID field.
Enter the confidential Audio PID number - Highlight the field to the right of ‘Audio PID’, press OK, and enter the four digit number using the numeric keys on the remote. Press OK to register the Audio PID number.
Enter the confidential PCR PID number - Highlight the field to the right of ‘PCR PID’, press OK, and enter the four digit number using the numeric keys on the remote. Press CH DOWN to move to the ‘ADD channel’ field.

PRESS "OK" ONE TIME ONLY!

This adds the new channel information to the transponder. The number of channels added so far will be displayed in the field to the right of the ‘Add channel’ prompt.
Press MENU to return to the Transponder Parameter Entry Table.
Press MENU again to return to the ‘TP Installation’ menu.
Press MENU again to return to the ‘Main Menu’.
